So with one more decade completed, the memories floated back to a decade previously and a decade before that. 1999/2000 was of course Y2K night of wondering what was ahead of us all in the days ahead, and living up to ones reputation as the 13th Duke of Wybourne. 2009/2010 was in Jozi, down the local casino, keeping plates spinning, while again acting as the duke but in a slightly self-destructive manner but happily enjoying teenage kicks as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Now middle age, being Mr Responsible, Mr Dependable, Mr Family man, things have become a lot more "normal" and the transition passed without even a murmur.
One of the abiding memories of that last decade was wandering into a random pub in Woodmead of a Friday night and seeing this crowd play unannounced. Almost as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
Rapidly increasing age and the passing of the seasons can be a miserable cunt of a thing
Here's to the next 10 years judge.
